View Full Version : Grading.
Salutations:
I was wondering if any current students can inform me about the grading basis done at SABA? I mean, do they give out letter grades or simply an H/P/NP? In addition, what is the Minimim Passing Score, if any (this is done at Ross, but they may be in the process of getting rid of it)? Thanks.

90-100 = A
80-89 = B
75-79 = C
<75 = Fail

Just like the USMLE!
Best of Luck!
So basically it is a straight scale? Do the professors make any adjustments to the grades or add points? Thanks.

Most professors adjust the tests or the course grade somewhat. Some more than others.
Best of Luck!
Thanks ResearchingGuy. By the way, does SABA have a maximum number of units students can repeat? Thanks.

jek2839, you need to call the school!!!!
Actually, as I recall, if you fail something twice they suggest you find somewhere else to go to school. At times, there may be extenuating circumstances which might allow you to continue in a probationary mode.
However, do not take this as the gospel as I believe the Faculty really have the final say in what goes on.

Hello,
Also, I believe that if you fail a class at Saba, you have to take that class again the next semester, and you are precluded from moving forward with your other courses. Therefore, you spend an entire semester repeating that one class, and taking no other classes. Obviously this delays your graduation by a semester. The policy behind this is to avoid scheduling problems with subsequent semesters.

Some classes are pre-requisites for others. If you fail one of those, you cannot go on to the next class before passing the pre-req. There are others though, that don't have pre-reqs, so you can continue on as long as there is no conflict in the day's schedule (i.e. Neuro isn't at the same time as Physio, etc.). You don't have to repeat a whole semester if you fail one class (like at Ross), and you don't have to take just the failed class (unless it's unusual circumstances).
Best of Luck!
