Has anyone stayed at the Floretta Augustine Apartment??

Hi guys,

Has any of you guys stayed at the Floretta Augustine Apartment?? I will be going to Ross for th Sept 05 class and in the hunt for a place to stay. Please let me know what this apartment is like and how far is it from the campus. Thanks.

if memory serves me correct that was my landlord when I was on the island in '02. in addition, if you are referring to the "white house" perched on a little hill that is on banana trail, I lived there as well. it was spectacular...it has two units , one upstairs and one downstairs. both apartments are 2 bed/2 bath with kitchens and full amenities. fully furnished. 5 mins from campus. the rent at the time was like $900 US for the apt.. if this is the place that you are referring to then dollar for dollar it is the nicest place around school. I had heard after I left, that she built some other units on the same property. if they are anything like the original then take it if you can.

I would suggest the Cartys. I lived there not too long ago and they were FAIR, Honest and excellent landlords. Which can sometimes me difficult to find in Dominica, when so many of the locals see dollar signs on students heads.

They have three apartments on their property. It is right on the main road, a 5 min straight walk to school. Although if you want to take a transport it would take you about a minute to get to campus. Also it is right next to Tina's Grocery store, which it real convienent (?) and much cheaper than James Grocery Store that is next to the school

What they have is a "real" one bedroom, with ample counterspace and cabinets, a porch, and the whole property is enclosed. Rent is less than $400 and the place is Clean and they are HONEST. You also get maid service once a week.

The Cartys live above you, so they are always willing to help. In my stay on there, there was not a week that went by when I didn't get fresh fruits or treats from them.

However, if you are a party animal or like to blast your music and stuff, this is probably not the place for you. The Cartys screen their students, but it is well worth it.
