Electives during 4th year

Two questions

If you want to get licensed in Cali do all your electives as well as your core rotations have to be in "green book" ACGME approved hospitals or can the electives be anywhere?

Also is there a list of the different types of rotations available for electives?

I would say to be on the safe side that you should do all your rotations at ACGME approved programs regardless of where you want to get licensed. But I will see if I can find out for sure.

As far as what electives are available if you go to the schools website under clinical affiliations you will see the cores and electives each hospital has. However this list needs to be updated because some of these hospitals dont offer certain electives anymore. The best way to find out is call the hospital you are interested in doing the elective and ask the clinical coordinator.
