I don't mean to post this message as a generic question about MCAT-USMLE correlation.
I am interested in people who got an MCAT score from say 19-23, and I was wondering if they could tell me if they scored high enough on the USMLE to match into a primary care residency or higher.

I read a post on this forum a few weeks ago in relation to the importance of MCAT score at SGU, or something to that effect. Anyway the poster claims that he/ she scored a 20 MCAT, and then scored 232/ 233 on Step 1/ Step2.

at one of my med school interviews, the dean of the school told me that at their school there was a correlation between the verbal mcat score and step 1 scores for their students. however, i have never seen any numbers and i would hesitate to make a general statement based on stats from one school. if u scored poorly on the mcat (as i did), use your time in med school to improve your study skills and test taking strategies, there is no reason you cant do well on step 1 just because you didnt do well on the mcat. good luck.

Back2reality made an excellent point. Improve your study habits. DONT worry about correlations. You are going to doom yourslef into doing bad on step 1 thinking about your mcat score and how thats going to affect step 1. THe mcat is in the past and you are in med school regardless. Now focus on learning the material you need to know for step 1, improve your study habits, and work hard for step 1.
