I HAVE BEEN WAITING SINCE DEC28

Hi, to anyone outthere who could help me. i had my interview for fall05 on Dec28 and im still waiting for answer, i had called the office every week and everytime they say they are still reviewing i even wrote a letter requesting an answer two weeks ago and nothing. i think this means that they have rejected me, please give me any advice u can? has anyone ever waited this long?

If you browse old threads, you'll notice a wide variation in wait times from weeks to 6 months... So it's not that unusual... At least it means you most likely haven't been summarily rejected, just still being compared to the applications that are still coming in, since admissions are rolling.

I don't think you can do anything other than you are already doing, i.e. calling periodically to politely inquire as to the status of your application.

I second that... there is nothing you can do but wait and see. You don't want to do anything that might make the adcom upset at you or would paint a portrait of you in a bad light so just wait...

In the mean time I would suggest that you make a backup just incase you don't get in but don't think that since you havn't heard anything that you have not gotten in.

keep in mind too that because of the hurricane, there's been a lot of restructering of class schedules and personnel for other purposes. The class doesn't start for another 4 months so there's lots of time. I don't think they are making acceptance letters their absolute priority just yet.

this topic has a bi-annual rhthym - a fever peaking twice a year. its actually fun to watch the panic it helps me reminisce the time when i was waiting. kind of a look back at all the hurdles....

I spoke to you personally but wanted to let everyone know that it took me 3 months to get an acceptance. I spoke with ******** ****** at Bayshore and she was incredibly helpful.

I would also KINDLY give SGU a call once in awhile to make sure things are ok and to reiterate your interest in SGU.

Waiting is a bitch, but what can you do? I'm holding off sending in my deposit as long as possible until I hear from Indiana University. Its the last school I am waiting to hear from and if I get in (unlikely but they gave me an interview) I would have hated to send SGU the deposit when its non-refundable... I'm just lucky that AUC has a 2/3 refund on their deposit.

The best thing is not to worry because after your interview there is nothing that you can do but wait. So just forget about it for a few weeks and then give em a call if you havn't heard anything yet

Well, I was kind of in a funk because I figured after 3 months of waiting I didn't get accepted so I was just going to quit posting. But, here I am, in a much better mood now, so I'm back now, with lots of lengthy, annoying questions to come!

Just relating I guess, as I too have been waiting for approx. 3 mos. since the interview.

Stacy, if you read this - I actually pm'd you with congrats and all my crazy thoughts but of course the computers in my school's lab had to go on the fritz just as I hit send. The joys of a public institution (yes, well aware island life may include even more added bonuses..not complaining).

Texas schools were a bust for me, am interviewing at a podiatry school, waiting on a US med school, and quite honestly going mad living with the parentals while working on my MPH. I'm so not even motivated to finish my thesis b/c I know my desires lie elsewhere...well at least all the current dissatisfaction lets me know what I don't want to do.

Good luck waiting to everyone else - and for those of you done with the waiting game, did you find out via the package, email, phone?

My admis. couns. said she'd let me know (phone,email) when she got word-that was when I called at the 1 month marker. I don't want to be "that girl", so I nixxed the calling until I consult the "waiting to hear from med school phone etiquette book"

the package wasnt all that....mostly papers filled with the amount of money i have to pay.

they did send me a reliabe, trusty SGU pen and a SGU travel pouch, which i havent used yet...

took mcats two times first time 25 second 20 my gpa was 3.19 and i did one summer volunteer one summer SMEP and my science gpa was 3.25 hopefully this helps
