Psych at Bergen Regional Health center, NJ

How is psych rotation at this place? Anyone rotated through this hospital? Please post your experiences.

I am scheduled to be at bergen starting in june...the 6th i think. One of the guys at my current rotation had done his psych at bergen and said it was a good experience, but don't do it if you want to slack as they expect you to work there (as they should).

In general, its a good rotation. The main complaint is the hours. You're required to be there from 8-5 everyday, which isn't terrible. However, there is quite a bit of down time. Also, you will hear from others doing psych elsewhere that they get out much earlier in the day.

So if you want to view your psych rotation as a 6-week vacation, Bergen will make you cringe. On the other hand, if you're like many who still have no intention of a career in psych, but realize that this is your only opportunity to gain exposure to this field, Bergen will serve you well.
