hi, guys.

i have this simple question. where do you eat? is it close by?

i am thinking about applying saba or auc since they are cheaper.

i don't feel like cooking all the time, especially when i don't even know that country's situation.

i read it on the web, you can only live at the dorm for the first semester, then you will hve to find your own.

can you find anything close by? and how much would that cost usually?

how much do u have to spend on eating every month?

thanks.

Most people when they live in the dorm find other students they become friends with and then usually share a house when they start second semester. This is the most economical way to live outside the dorm. There are single apartments, but the nice ones close to the school are not cheap and some have a waiting list.

I shared a house with two friends that was about $400 a month for each of us. That was a few years ago, and I don't know how much things are now, but I would still expect housing to be reasonable. Food is a little more expensive than in the states. There are two well equipped markets, plus a few smaller stores. Most people learn to cook simple food as it's much cheaper than eating out. From what I understand, the new campus has a great cafeteria, but I don't know what the hours are. There are some cheap places to eat for burgers and the like, as well as some fairly expensive places too. I really wouldn't worry too much, you'll become acclimated to the island while you live in the dorm and then can figure out what you want to do.
