You need to have a computer with speakers and a headset microphone. You'll also need an internet connection. I suggest the fast internet, but Dean Wagner says his works on just Dial-Up. Either way, you'll get that here. I've found it to work really well, with little delay. Other than that, you don't need anything special. Try www.dialpad.com or www.net2phone.com for more details. You can get a monthly call package for less than $10. Clearly it depends on how often you want to talk.

It "may" be possible to use programs like Netmeeting (comes with windows). I am going to try this when I get to the island in Sept. It requires both parties to be on their computers and is FREE/min.

This possibility is dependent on how Ross/Phone Co. set up their network...

You will NOT be able to use any of these programs on the University. It is prohibited due to a contractual agreement with the Internet Provider. You can, however, use them at home.

Some of the free phone call programs work (Instand Messenger), but they have a HUGE delay. $0.015-$0.03 isn't bad.

well, i have a business proposal.

ross should set up a special telephone room at school. People can buy phone cards from Ross, then go to that special room to talk through the internet.

I use net2phone to call, and I have dialup. I have no trouble with it.
