Father coming with me. Is the Portsmith hotel or the cottages a better place to stay when also considering costs. Is one night sufficient or should he stay for the week. Does the average apartment have a bed or sleep sofa for him to crash? He doesn't like to sleep on floors.

He can stay at the Portsmouth Beach Hotel (okay for a hotel, not for a long term apartment) which is about $35US per night. The Cottages range in price depending on the season. You can expect to pay about $75-100 there, but they are much nicer and right on the beach.

NO, most apartments do not have a couch or hide-a-bed for him to use. He could bring a blow up matress to use then YOU could sleep on it and give him the bed....or not.

Its nice to have family here for a week or so. A parent or two is really helpful to help you get situated and established here. But, of course, that's up to you.

Have your dad stay at a PBH no frillls room.
He will be inspired to give you more money and cut you some slack when you show him your grades.
