View Full Version : Prospective student for Jan term
I'm hoping to be accepted to Ross and enter this Jan term (2004)...I have a 3.0 gpa as of right now and will be taking the MCATs this August 2003. What do you think my chances of acceptance are? And are the MCATs really used as a factor in admissions? Because from what I've read and heard, the MCATs are to be taken and score to be sent but yet it will not be considered when reviewing your application? Is this true???? :?:
Also, does Ross require AMCAS to be done? Because if so, I need to get started on that now... :!:
I'd appreciate anyone's insight on these questions!
Thanks,
Manu

There are many factors that play into whether you will be accepted. You said your approx GPA, what is your degree in? Do you have clinical experience?
The last official word I heard is that the MCAT is NOT currently required. BUT, I also heard from another student that they changed their mind and are now requiring it again. Call the admissions office to make sure.
You do not have to go through the AMCAS for admission to an ONshore US school.

My degree is in Biology with concentration in Premed and I have lots of clinical experience (such as volunteering in hospitals) ....I am hoping that my gpa will rise to a 3.5 after this summer (taking 3 summer classes).
What month should I apply in for the Jan 2004 term???

The sooner the better. That way you know well in advance and don't have to stress about it the last few months. You can apply now even though you haven't completed ALL of your coursework. However, if you want to be evaluated on the higher GPA, then you may want to wait.
Good luck!
