does anyone know the address to use when we mail packages to the school??

Does it generally take a long time to receive packages if they are mailed to the school?

Send packages to:

Your Name
c/o American University of the Caribbean
School of Medicine
#1 Jordan Road
Cupecoy
Sint Maarten, Netherlands Antilles

If the package is small enough, it will be delivered to Note Service, who will then notify you that you have a package.

If the package is larger, then you may get a yellow slip directing you to the post office in Simpson Bay (Palapa Center) where you will have to pay a small fee to recieve your package.

Hope this helps!

I mailed our son at AUC a package from Ohio on Nov. 12 via USPS. I chose a rate that would get the package there in 7-10 days. It arrived 2 months later in mid-January!! The USPS told me they only guarantee the package will get to the border, then there are no guarantees after that nor can they trace it after it leaves the States.

Happened to me too. I've realized USPS is just that. United States Postal Service.. once it's not in the US, they give it to other services to forward the package. LAG!
SXM has Fedex and DHL centers, so those services are spot on.
I've done TNT and EMS, those are even faster than USPS and they're from UK and Japan!

I received a package in March last year....my parents sent it in October of the previous year.

Turns out it took a rather circuitous route going from Hawaii to Sint Maarten to PUERTO RICO then eventually back to Sint Maarten.

The previous posters are right. The USPS does what they need to do....after that it's in the hands of the Netherlands Antilles postal service.

This was an isolated incident, as I've only experienced this problem once (thankfully)...just know it CAN happen.
