Dear All,

The car situation on the island has changed after Ivan visited us.
We used to have a bunch of " used " cheap cars. All those have been trashed and deported from the island.
Today in order to get a insurrance (mandatory to register your car) you need to get a real car inspection.
Therefore the 2000 USd cars are not longer available. All cars available are " new used " cars for around 4-5000.
For the ones that are thinking about getting cars, you could also go on line on japenese website and purchase a car from there.
They have pretty good deals on used cars and the delivery time is 6 weeks.
You should be able to get a good used car landed in Cayman for about 3000 USD.

Plenty of japanese websites, Google it, you will see(www.japanesevehicles.com is one)
the inspection and license is 180/year.

i'm currently 3rd semester and decided not to go back to cayman next semester. i have a low mileage 95 Integra silver color back in cayman excellent condition with CD Player installed and being maintained by Mr. Rose at Residence Hall. Mr. Rose recently (a couple weeks ago) installed 4 new tires.
i bought it June 2004 for 4000CI (about 5000 USD).
i'm willing to sell it for $4000 - 4500 USD to those who's going back to cayman or upcoming 1st semester students. i'm sure it's a great deal. you can ask other students about it or check buysell.ky to compare the car values in cayman.
