I've had MAJOR trouble trying to get private loans and approval. I was approved for Medachiever before they yanked it. I applied for TERI and was rejected even with credit worthy cosigner! I know AUC has many other options. Can anyone give me any advise on which one is the easiest to get approved with, most money, and maybe which credit reporting agency they use? Thanks! ccmd2b@hotmail.com

I would strongly encourage you to visit the website: www.creditboards.com. Read their sticky notes for newbies, and read their postings on how to repair your credit. They also have a link for student loans, which may be of help to you. Also, you might want to visit www.myfico.com and obtain a copy of your Equifax credit report (the one Sallie Mae presently uses) and have a look at your score as well (included with that report). These days, with identity theft and all of that, you never know whats on your credit reports - plus the credit bureaus are known to have errors.
It is best to get a copy of your own credit report before you give lenders permission to obtain your report. Then, when you are gathering information on loans, you can see plainly whether or not your report will qualify for the loan. The fico score, which lenders use to help them decide if you qualify or not, actually drops a few points each time a lender pulls your credit report. But when you pull your own report, no points are ever deducted from that score. This is why I mention this.
Good Luck.
