I am planning on applying to St. Matthew in a couple of weeks. I was wondering for those who applied to St. Matthew if you had your recommenders attach the St. Matthew's University School of Medicine Confidential Recommendation form. I was able to get 3 letter of recommendations a couple of month ago but I didn't have my recommenders use the form from the application. I was wondering if it would be okay if I just send in the letters without the form that was provided in the application for the recommendation letter.
Thanks

All of my professors filled out the st. matthew's recommendation form, but i think its optional and professors can send their own letters of recommendation. you should call or e-mail the school just to be sure. if you want to send out the letters of recommendation with your application make sure the professor signs on the sealed part of the application. best of luck.

My advise would be to send them in and if the school has a problem with them then they will inform you. I did not use SMU forms but another form that my undergrad provided for premed recs and they were accepted by the school.

The recommendation letters must be sealed by the person who wrote them. They are meant to be confidential even from you just like when official transcripts are sent. This is to prevent any possible tampering. If they are not sealed the school may ask that the people who wrote them send an additional copy.
