Hi,

I was wondering if any current student knows if laptops are required. I just bought a new desktop a little awhile ago and I do not want to have to replace it already if possible.

I heard laptops are really really handy. I would especially agree since it's Spartan, where I'd assume the library and the computer lab aren't exactly fancy and huge to accomodate all students comfortably. My desktop is actually 5 years old and I've been due for a new system quite some time, which will be a new laptop to take with me to the island.

Laptops are not required but it would be a good idea to bring a laptop and a wireless card for the internet and school network.

LAPTOPS ARE HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. WE ARE ON A WIRELESS NETWORK SO YOU CAN USE YOU LAPTOP FROM WITHIN THE SCHOOL. PLEASE BRING ONLY THE "NETGEAR 802.11B" PC WIRELESS CARD AS THIS IS THE ONE THAT IS MOST EFFICEINT.

Thanks for the information mdarkram, laptop it is! I was just wondering are you a current student at Spartan? If you feel as if I am invading your privacy I understand if you do not want to answer. If you are and do not mind sharing this fact can you please tell me if it was difficult for you to set your own rotations? And did you do any in Canada?

I'm completely ignorant when it comes to laptops. Can someone expound on the "netgar" PC card ? And how much does it cost ?

Netgear is sold in every Circuity City stores(and almost everywhere else).

Netgear=brand
802.11b wireless=the techology
Circuit City=where I used to work.... damn that was a boring job.
