i got a couple of questions about the school library and how to get there. im a library person, my weakness is i cant study with the bed around, soo tempting to sleep after a long day of school. can some one answer the following questions:
1. what are the library hours on weekdays and weekends?
2. how big is the library? how many people can it hold?
3. how safe is it to walk at 10pm from the library to the residence hall?
4. i do not plan to get a car or a bike, can i hire a local bus/van/taxi driver to drive me in the morning to the campus and drop me off to the residence hall at 10pm everyday?
5. i read somewhere that the residence hall doors closes at 10pm on weekdays and 11pm on weekends, can it be extended to 11pm on weekdays as well for weekends?
some of you reading this might think im a library freak, but its difficult for me to study in the same room as i sleep in. thank you in advance to whoever replies. :)

I'm starting in May '05, but I've seen the library and visited the island several times so I think I can help with a few of these.
2. The library is fairly small. There are places to study in the library. If not, there are other areas to study so you don't have to study in your room.
3. Although Grand Cayman is a safe place, I would not suggest walking the 1.5-2 miles at 10:00pm (or at any other time on a regular basis).

The rest I have an idea about, but I'll let someone else chime in with definitive answers (ie Sebastien). Also, I agree with you that it is difficult to study with a bed beckoning.

library opens from 8am to 10pm and extended to midnight during finals

The library is not that large, but as two rooms and one totally noise free.
There is a study room at the RH too.
3. how safe is it to walk at 10pm from the library to the residence hall?
It is safe to walk on seven miles beach at 10pm
4. i do not plan to get a car or a bike, can i hire a local bus/van/taxi driver to drive me in the morning to the campus and drop me off to the residence hall at 10pm everyday?
Yes, one of the solution to tranport is to get a group of student and make an arrangment with one taxi or bus driver.
5. i read somewhere that the residence hall doors closes at 10pm on weekdays and 11pm on weekends, can it be extended to 11pm on weekdays as well for weekends?
Doors are closed but the Security is there. It is not like you cannot come in anymore, you just have to check with security, that's all some of you reading this might think im a library freak, but its difficult for me to study in the same room as i sleep in. thank you in advance to whoever replies. :)

It's a small room that can be use for group study or for regular study.
It can hold up to 15 students at the max.
Again, most of the student study in their room where they have all amenities
