I am curious about your medical education at SMU.What do you think about the teachers so far?
Are you concerned about the housing and car problems in Grand Cayman?

I am not a current student, but a future student (May '05). I am definitely concerned about the housing shortage and cars. Having said that, my concern is not that I won't be able to find a car or place to live, it's that I will have to pay more than I would like. I'm confident that I will be able to find a decent car to drive around and with all of the new university residence halls coming soon, I know that there will be plenty of places to live (come september).

Hello,

The RH will be ready for May. A lot fo people are bringing cheap cars from japan to sell to people on the island.
I agree that September will be easier, but again, i am confident that May will be fine

Are bikes totally outdated/unrealistic modes of transportation or am I going to be the only one trying to dodge traffic in a soaked school uniform (don't forget to include a helmet with racing stripes on the side, baby!) and with groceries on my handlebars?!? If I can do it, anyone can do it (and you know you want to!); carpool biking...going once...twice...

Cheers to the interesting "helmet hair" days that lie ahead!

P.S., I just might get flexible, attach a sidecar and start charging for pickup's and deliveries (hello rent!)...

I rode a bike EVERYWHERE. There is also public transportation (doesn't come around much) That is a van and costs 2$. People usually bought cars as a group too which seemed like a pain in the *** but they did it. You are going to an island that is small. Don't sweat the small stuff.

if cayman is anything like sxm that is a dangerous way to go....hehehe

think of NY attitude and miami-cuban-latin american aggressive driving styles all rolled up into one and you have caribbean driving...they do stop for every single person that needs to be let in though regardless of current speed weather or situation....

Do they stop to attend to the mangled bodies of the scooter drivers?

Scooters are a little scary, I have to admit, especially when you start driving on the left side of the road.
Bikes are used by a large number of students. Keep in mind the highest point of Cayman island is 21 feet.....:P
