Hi all,
I was just filing out my teri form application and it seems that they won't process my forms due to the fact that I haven't held a steady job for two years and I don't have a co-sighner. CAn anyone tell me how I might be able to get the cash? ANy information would be very benifical. Thanks.

If you have less than satisfactory creditability and you have no decent co-signer, you won't be able to find any loans anywhere. Bank of Montreal and Royal Bank of Canada do provide line of credit for medical students even to those with bad credit history, but that is if they have good co-signers. Teri or Medachiever loans will look at your creditability. Spartan does not have the federal loans, but if you're a Canadian citizen, you'll be eligible to apply for a student loan. Canadian government gives out loans based on financial need, and will not look at your credit history or require a co-signer. The only down side is that you will barely pay for two semester's worth of tuition with the money.
I'd suggest you rebuild your credits and find a co-signer, or take some years off to work and save money.

Why isn't Spartan DOE approved? Were they rejected? Have they ever even applied? I'm just wondering if it's a quality of education issue or an issue of unmotavted administration.

Only 3 schools in the Caribbean have a DOE pin number so that their students can receive federal aid: AUC, Ross, and St. George. Apparently, these schools were able to obtain the DOE number back when it was easier to obtain. At the moment, trying to get the number is very tough, especially for offshore schools. In addition, even if the school manages to obtain this number, I am sure tuition will rise to meet the amount students could have gotten (federal aid), so in the end it may still be the same.
