I don't know what is better, Caribbean or EE school. I want the ability to practice medicine in the US and Europe. How hard is it to get into a Caribbean school. Which place is better to go to for a residency in NY? Never looked into Caribbean schools before and need some feedback and opinions.
Thanks

in terms of getting back to the US to practice, typically the carib schools do a better job....well, i am assuming that you are comparing to the english language programs in EE (czech, hungary, poland, etc...). simply put, the better carib schools (ross, auc, sgu) have a long history of getting grads back to the states successfully. additionally, the benefit of having a USMLE based curriculum and US clinicals is significant.
however, i am not sure about the carib school getting you back to europe. if you are seriously considering working in the EU as well as the US, then the 6 year programs in the EE may be a decent option for both. but, i am not sure how you would work that out...i am pretty sure there are significant work visa issues, as well as a strong likelihood that you would have to do 2 residencies.
so, for coming back to the states, the carib is generally the more direct path, and better for most. EE is fine for some of us, but it is certainly a longer, more convoluted route. offshore medschools are not for the weak, and the EE is certainly no exception!
there is a good source of infor in the member Miklos...am i sure he will post some great information.
best of luck
Does anyone know how hard it is to get into the 3 caribbean schools? MCAT scores, GPA, Experience...

Ross actually can give you both options....either do residency in the US or in Europe. Ross is actually recognized by the GMC (General Medical Council www.gmc-uk.org )
The MD degree that you would obtain from Ross, if you went there, will give you the opportunity to write the board exams in the UK(PLAB). Also, you will have to do an english test (forgot the name, but i know for sure that is it not the PLAB).
