dear singa, hi i was the one who asked you for your grades in high school. and my grades are as follows.
biology-70%
physics-75%
chemistry-63%
english-80%
what do you think my chances are of being accepted?!

oh and i was wondering, since youve said that you're STARTING in march...well i called and they said they are barely coming out with an application for admission around mid february. HOW DID YOU GET ACCEPTED SO QUICKLY?! thats cool. and HOW CAN I FOLLOW THE SAME PROCESS YOU'VE FOLLOWED? please, if you can answer these questions and also let me know how you got their admission forms for the twinning program and everything else ive asked, i would greatly appreciate it.

because when i called they were saying applications will be online around mid february, and when you said you are already leaving in march, i got confused. so please help me out on what they really mean and how you did to get in the march category and how i can do the same thing youve done. also according to my grades, what are my chances of getting accepted? thank you very much.

Hello,

I have been accepted into the Melaka-Manipal Twinning Program, which has 2 intakes, one in March and the other in September. I think you might have spoken to the officials in the KMC Manipal Program, not the Melaka-Manipal Twinning Program. The difference between the 2 programs is that the one I am in is a Twinning Program. It consists of 2 and half years of basic sciences in Manipal, India. The next 2 and a half years consist of the clinical phase, and is completed in Melaka, Malaysia. The KMC Manipal program is completely done in Manipal, India. I believe that program only has one intake in August. Graduates of both programs earn a Manipal Academy of Higher Education MBBS Degree. Both schools are listed in the WHO and IMED directories, which is important if you want to do your residency in the states.

The information for the program I am in is as follows:

-There are two intakes - March and September
-Application forms can be downloaded from the following site:

-They base their admission on your Grade 12 High School Science marks
-They look at 3 out 4 Science subjects (Math, Chemistry, Physics, Biology)
-As long as you have 3 out of the 4, you should be fine
-They require a GPA of 3.0, and with the grades you provided, I think you stand a good chance

-I believe the cut-off date for this year's March intake is JAN 31st. If you are still interested, you should call and speak with the Deupty Registrar of the program. His name is Mr. Sathu Raman

A bit of background to the program:
-I believe 30% of Malaysia's doctors are Manipal Graduates
-The government of Malaysia and Manipal decided to create this program to offer more opportunities for Malaysian students, although it is not limited to Malaysian students only. They accept other foreign students as well, like my self.
-Most of the incoming class is Malaysian, with a good mix of Chinese, Malay, and Indian students.
-From my research and from speaking with others, Manipal is a well reputed school in India and has earned a good name in the International community as well.

If you are interested, I would suggest that you apply. If you are keen in starting this March, you should send your Application immediately and insist on them expediting the processing of your application.

Let me know how things go...perhaps we could meet up in India in March if you get accepted for the March intake. There is an orientation in Malaysia on the 5th of March and registration in Manipal is on the 14th or 17th. There are tow dates, as there will be two batches of Malaysian students going from Malaysia. Class starts on the 21st of March. Wish you all the best!

Just wanted to know what your status was, with regards to admission into the March intake of the Melaka-Manipal Twinning program. If you have been accepted, maybe we can arrange to meet up in Malaysia for the orientation or meet in Manipal. It would be nice to know someone else from North America in this particular program. On that note, if there are any other NA students that have been admitted for the March intake, please let me know.
