SABA Shelf Exams on OB/GYN

What are these shelf exams like? I would like to hear comments on those of you who have taken this exam recently. Is there anywhere that a good set of study questions in this area is available?

any step 2 book with obgyn questions should do..
like obgyn section in kap qbook..

basically point of the shelf is to see if u learned what u were supposed to learn outta that rotation to pass that section on the step 2 exam

Are you Speaking from Experience having taken this exam? Ive heard that is totally inadequate prep for the shelf. And as you probably know those Q are totally different from the Boards. Isnt there something out there more extensive than Q for this? Has anyone used this First Aid for OB/GYN ? Id be interested in hearing comments from people that have taken this exam.

well thats what my friends at us med schools used for the shelf in each rotation.. over top of their regular rotation reading ie. blueprints or whatever

Thanks for your reply. I am at the point in study in which I need a good source for Q/A specific to OB/GYN. Isnt there a good site out there somewhere with such questions. Im not ref. to that type of Q/A in those texts you buy. Something more attuned to the type of questions asked on the typical Shelf for OBGYN. I am thinking of a Residency in this field and want to do especially well on this shelf. Thanks again for your replies.

I did find out from the other site that there is an APGO QUIZ out there for Obgyn students to prep for the shelfs. However, that quiz is available on line to students of US medical schools and the school must subscribe to it. Anyone out there have access somehow to those quiz questions.

u should also check out the clinical rotation section on the studentdoctor.net forums, there are many posts there about obgyn shelf exams... and how to study for it and what to use etc etc..

and u can try posting this question on the saba discussion group link on the left side of the saba.edu homepage (thats supposed ot be a clinical discussion group so might get more specific answers there)
