I just got a call from my advisor that they are not giving tours of housing for the May term. We have to pick from the new online database before we get there. Can any current students recomend a place. I'm looking for a 1 bedroom apt with in 10min walking distance. I know they give descriptions on the website but you have been there personally. If anyone can suggest some places that would be most appreciated. thanks

Wow the housing list and parts of the website are starting to look more professional. In order to get a proper response to your request you should indicate the $dollars you want to spend for the apartment and what amenities you are looking for. That will have a bearing on the answers you get. Also do you mind walking up hills? Many apartments on the upper Banana trail require walking up and down inclines. My son lived 5 minutes from the front entrance to Ross, paid $575 per month. This included cable tv, including the tv a microwave, proane gas stove, full refrigerator, bedroom, kitchen with table and chairs and bathroom. maid service was included.

you shouldn't worry too much.
if you don't like guess work, you can always live at Ross-owned PBH for a semester, and search for new housing during your first semester.

I see this housing data base but it says the school does not support if the information is accurate.
I'm looking for something in the 400-700 range. I heard that screens and window bars are best to have. I'm looking for one with a decent kitchen, tv is not necessary and the same with internet, if it has internet thats good but not a necessity. I also dont mind walking hills as long as the school is about 10min away. thanks

everything under banana trail, picard, and lizard trail is within 10 minutes walk. Portsmouth is the farthest.
prices range from $400 up on banana trail, to $700+ on lizard trail.
So you should be quite satisfied with anything within this price range you specified.
window bars are a must....
all other amenities are listed on the housing website.

You'll do fine once you get here. Plenty of people will help you out once you get here. Portsmouth can give you good deals but you have to rely on taxis, which isn't a problem....just annoying sometimes. Stay away from Margaret Casey....it's in Portsmouth....stay away!

I recommend you stay at Mrs. McLawrence Apts. They are about a 5 minute walk from school- directly in front of PBH- on the main road (you wont have to worry about getting your clothes and shoes all dirty and muddy in the rain). The apts go for $600 and they are two room units- one is the bedroom and the other room is a kitchen/living area. Decent size bathrooms and a small balcony in each apt. Very safe location. Phone number is 767-225-3744. You also have Aviesville wich are nice apts and a little bit cheaper (approx. $450). They have one, two and three bedroom units. The place has a pool (the only place with a pool other than PBH) and I believe soon will also have internet included. It is a little bit further from campus about a 10 minute walk and you do have to walk in rougher terrain but they are still very nice. Phone number 767-445-3828. You also have small studio apts that around $375 right near school at Mr. Bennet Titre's. They are located between PBH and school. They are located above and next to a grocery store so you can have easy access to groceries. The only thing is that the apts are small studios with a kitchenette and small bathrooms. If you are looking to save money and you dont really plan on studying at home all the time, this place is a great deal. Very safe as well. 767-235-3962. Hope this helps a little bit.
