View Full Version : "specials"
i know california guidelines for licensure are very strict. but does anyone know if a "special" is an approved rotation for licensure or do I have to wait until I get my scores first before I start rotations. i mean what if i did a "special" and didn't pass step 1...would it count? even if i pass, would it count? would i have a problem later when i apply for licensure? i emailed Dr. Perri, but haven't heard back from him yet. any information will be appreciated. thanks!

Yes, don't worry about that. Some schools don't require that you pass Step 1 before starting rotations. The policy is one from Ross (and most others), not from the California board. If you start a "special" rotation before you have received your results, you will complete that rotation and will still receive credit.
By the way, Dr. Perri is a female. You are always encouraged to communicate through your assigned clinical advisor instead of always writing Dr. Perri who is VP of Academic Affairs of the Medical AND Veterinary School and Clinical Dean of the Medical School.
Best of luck!
