When you guys apply to SMU, how do you ensure that the letters are confidential. I have a lot of letters of recommendation, I'm not sure how to show they are confidential though (or even if it matters). And I'm not going to have all of my recommenders write new letters on the SMU forms. Any suggestions?

Provide the recommender with the form and detail how it is to be completed. Put "sign here" stickers if necessary. The form, as far as I know, is required. Instruct them to write, "See attached" at the bottom of the SMU form, and have them include their letter of recommendation in an envelope with the form. Either provide postage so that they can mail the letter or have them seal the envelope and sign their name on the seal. That way you can mail the letter when you mail the application and other documents. Hope that helps. Good luck!

hey there are two ways i did it were to either send it to one professor who collects them all and sends them in through the school ( thats if your still in undergrad) or have the person personally send it to the school. I know you can put it in the envelope yourself...but that doesnt ensure that it is confidential. I did it using these two ways...as i read previously...others do it different ways...i doesnt matter how, as long as they get there.
