elective rotations

Is it common to pay extra tuition for elective rotations? How much can one expect to pay for the rotations on top of tuition?

I have had only 3-4 electives that cost extra to do. It is $250 extra a week and you pay something like $130. Don't let cost be a deterent for doing an elective though. It's getting harder to get electives now.
