Do you think Saba will require the MCAT anytime soon? If so, when?

I would think so. Having been approved in CA means that Saba will attract more applicants. This, in turn, will increase competition for the available seats. Increased competition will force them to focus on more standardized means of criteria for admission. When? I have no guess... Anyone?

I agree. I got in with no MCAT, but who knows how long that will last, if it is even still possible at this time. If you are worried about it, I'd apply sooner rather than later.

I think that unless your grades are in the 3.3 GPA range, both sciences and overall, you will need to have the MCAT and have a decent score (in the 8-9's or so). Just my own thoughts...

I dont think they will require MCATs for sometime (maybe 1 year+). Since they are building more classrooms in a new building, I would think that they will have to admit more students (about 100 would be my guess as oppose to the 55 they admit now per semester). Thus, I don't think MCAT will become a requirement anytime soon.

I think you also have to keep in mind that the loss of the MedAcheiver has kept the school from tightening their standards for the time being. There were still slots for January at Christmas because accepted students were having to rearrange financing. While they will almost certainly require the MCAT at sometime in the future, I don't see it happening soon.

let's hope val and gypsyfrey are right. i just cancelled my mcat review and test registration. i'd rather get a colostomy than re-learn all that useless basic science crap on the cat. :?

hello, i'm planning on pursuing an MD, starting with science course work, i didn't take in school. i was wondering how many current students, wrote the Mcat, currently i'm planning to take it and see if I can get into the brody school of med at east carolina, but i'm thinking, i would almost rather pursue school at saba, or neighboring schools, I've been reading the forums and obsessing over state medical board websites for so long (2 months) that, i can hardley wait to begin classes, I'm pretty much planning on taking most to all of the prereq classes (a few over again) at a community college, taking the Mcat and going from there. any advice from students that have gone/are going through the process, would be great :D
