Hello everyone!

A couple of posts back, I saw that some of you guys made reservations to be back in the states on June 4. When I looked at the SGU packet, it said that we have to wait until all grades are posted, to find out if we will go on. The grades will be posted Wednesday, June 8.

Is this correct? Should I book the flight for Feb 3-June 4 or Feb 3- June 9?

Thanks in advance!

Whenever your last exam is take the next plane the next day out. I made a mistake and stayed till the school said we had to sdtay after the board review and the campus was dead not to mention everything on campus. But for you guys its a little different because you will have the other term students still there when you have to leave so everything will be open.

Like Nimmit said, you can book a plane ticket as soon as your last day of finals are over. The grades *should* be posted the same day... If you failed a class, or got below a 2.5, then you may have to stay for the Academic Progress Committee meeting. Then you'll just have to change your ticket and pay the change fee. However, it is more likely that you won't face either of these 2 scenarios, so this way you can avoid having to change your ticket to earlier and paying the change fee. (like I did my 1st term.)

Some of the 'mandatory' things the school says have to be taken with a grain of salt. Like the 1st-termers-MUST-live-on-campus, the you-have-to-wait-till-the-APC-meeting is really just something they like to say; I don't know why. And the APC meet has nothing to do with the student's presence on the island anyway, coz even if you do happen to be in the group that has to worry about what the APC decides, you can't take any action till they send you their official decision on paper.

You know all your grades, at the very latest, by noon on the day after the last final. With all due respect to what your admission officer asserts, you can take the next flight out. I can betcha you'll want to. Coz by the end of 1st term I was so homesick I would have lassoed a plane to get off the island early. :)
