Hi Everyone:

This is my first post. However I have been viewing all the posts religiously for the last 4 months and it has been a great help. Thank you everyone for taking time to share your experiences.

I have been accepted to SABA for September 2005 :D and I am in the process of deciding if I am going to go through with this :?: . (Maybe a sticky for Sept 2005 acceptees is in order).

SABA was the only school I applied to.

One question that bothers me is the NY licensure. I read in one of the posts that SABA has a 5 year temporary license. First, I am not sure if this is accurate, an second, if it is what are the implications after the 5 year is over. For me NY is where I would possibly like to do my elective rotations, residency and practice in the future.

Any insight would be much appreciated.

Daktari.

Sorry, I can't remember what the NY deal is. All I know is that we can currently do clinicals (cores and electives), residency, and licensure in NY. I also know that SABA fought for NY approval and that they aren't gonna just lose it. IF it is just temporary (which I am not sure it is), then after the 5 years, NY will do a site visit again or something minor to see that the school hasn't deteriorated, and since Cali had just visited and said the school is good, then I think there will be no prob with NY! Cali is harder for approval anyways! Good luck with your medical studies and sorry I couldn't be more help!
