I must say that my experience here has been great. It is great to see that the professors really integrate technology into their lessons, and to see how helpful the staff are. No lines for registration, and the only problem was with Financial aid (not SMU's fault though). I love my apartment, just a $100 more than what I paid in Dominica, with much more! The snow is beautiful, haven't seen snow in a while! I am going to really like it here. Oh, the class sizes were small, less than 50 in the third semester class, compared to the 200 students. The professors actually know the students names...that is great!!!

Hi Juni,

Your post got me even more excited- how lucky you are to have snow (enjoy, enjoy)! I can't wait to start SMU in May... :o

Please keep us posted with respect to the wealth of experiences that you signed up for (wink)!

Warm regards and best of luck to you.

Hey juni,
How do you think transfering schools will affect you regarding licensure, if at all? Thanks

Hey juni,
How do you think transfering schools will affect you regarding licensure, if at all? Thanks

This is something I know I will have to address when it comes to interviewing for residencies, but for licensure I think not. Of course they will probably ask me why, and I have quite a few that I can list (will not dump on Ross). First, I want to practice in Florida. So any school that offers clinical rotations there is where I want to be. Ross just did not have them there, and after speaking with Dr. Perri, it was clear that Ross was not interested in obtaining more rotations.

Now concerning SMU...I love it here. The classes seem more intimate, and the professors seem genuine in their desire to help students. I even noticed that the library as simple as it looks (which can be understood due to the relocation), provided more books than what I saw at Ross. The school is wireless, and lectures are immediately available (most of the time). They also offer use of a copier for free! It's not perfect but I feel much better here. If anyone has any questions feel free to ask.

Unfortunately I will not have the opportunity to study in the Caymans, (if all goes well I will continue here in Maine). I plan on visiting the Caymans for a vacation . I wouldn't mind stopping by the campus to see how things are. I already stacked up on AAdvantage miles that the trip will be free for both my wife and I. Now if I can only find time to go to the Caymans!

Anyone that is happy with SMU has not had ... for Psych yet. The man is anti Indians, Middle Eastern, and blacks. Dont believe me? Contact a minority student who currently attends the school and they will tell you. If your taking a ... test make sure you use a pen on the exam and a pencil on the scantron. Trust me. A lot of (minority) honor students seem to fail his class for some reason.

NOTE FROM MODERATOR: the use of individual names is a SERIOUS VIOLATION of the rules of this forum.

Agreed that those are serious charges. As someone with a modicum of science background (if you are indeed an SMU student, which I personally doubt), you should know that you should have some proof before levelling an accusation like that. Of course, that would not serve your obvious agenda, would it?

As always, we take academic integrity very seriously at SMU, and any student who feelsthere is a problem should immediately report it to the Dean.

Also, you are violating ValueMD's TOS by your flooding.

I am still happy at SMU, as a matter of fact, even happier after speaking with Dr. G as to the future plans (where the University wants to go in the future). I am glad I transfered out of Ross, for if you think Dr. H is bad, I seen worse!!!! Atleast I am getting what I paid for, and that is a learning experience. Your claims are unsubstantiated, slanderous and just straight out defamation. Go troll somewhere else.
