hi everyone, im new to this value-md forum. i am planning on joining one of the medical colleges in punjab in august of 2005. my grades are currently all higher than the 50% needed to get in for NRI's. how do they add up the grades by merit, and exactly how competitive is it to get in? this is how i'm doing right now-
english-80%
bio-70%
phyiscs-70%
chemistry-60% (the above are a total of my high school grades)

now i am attending a local college in california, and i am taking biology and physics over to increase my percentages. i am confident to bring those percentages up to atleast 75%-85%.
i would like to know what my chances would be t oget in, because my parents have told me that it is HIGHLY competitive, even in colleges such as dayanand, amritsar, patiala, etc (my 3 main choices).
with my current grades, do i have a decent chance of being admitted? getting adittance would be my parents' ultimate dream come true and im willing to do anything for that. please help me and give me more detailed information. thank you!

i have heard that dayanand is one of the best medical colleges in india. also i have a relative who is attending that school right now. i also have had an uncle graduate from there, and i also know a brother and sister who have gone there. however, the sister already graduated and said she would rather go to the carribean, but i just think she said that because it was so hard for her to transfer from an american lifestyle to an indian lifestyle. i have already been to school in india in 3rd and 4th grades, so i have an idea of how much they push you to study lol.
