There are 2 schools in Latvia that I know of taking foreign students:

And since Latvia is now part of EU, take a look at:

well as long as you are a EU citizen and qualified in one of the EU state you will be able to work in the UK without having to do the plab.
In fact, you can work in any of the 25 EU countries.
there's only 2 universities with medical faculties in LV.
They are both equally good, regardless of what either will say  , both have EU accredited med degrees.
The Medical Academy of Latvia aka Riga Stradins University is the oldest one.
good luck.

Does anyone know whether you are entitled to full registration in the UK after completing 6 years of undergraduate medicine in latvia, I mean would you automatically qualify for a SHO post after only six years of undergraduate medicine, i know in UK you have to do 5 YEARS + 1 year as a PRHO (internship) and then u are entitled to full reg. Is the 6th year an internship year? Please explain how this works.

In theory, yes, provided that you meet all the requirements. This is because the sixth year in many European countries is considered the equivalent of a PRHO year (soon to be Foundation 1 year), even though it is prior to graduation.
However, before accepting my anonymous advice, I would highly recommend that you directly contact the GMC at the e-mail address posted on the above webpage. They will be able to tell you exactly what requirements you will need to meet.
In addition, if I were you, I would check with the school in Latvia to ensure that you will be able to get these documents upon graduating.
Good luck,
Miklos.

See the map at http://www.gmc-uk.org/register/map.htm
Under those circumstances, unless one can show that one practiced medicine in a EU state, one is only eligible for limited registration. This means sitting for the PLAB.
