Is there any lists or rankings for European medical schools for Americans?
Are there any allow graduates to practice in California and Florida?
I am looking for a school in Europe that will give me a great lifestyle for relatively cheap, but not hinder me from practicing in America?

if you do a search on this forum you will find a lot of information on Eastern European medical schools.

The ONLY california-approved EE medical schools (ENGLISH MEDIUM PROGRAM) are; Semmelweis University & University of Szeged (in Hungary) AND First Faculty of Charles University (in Czech Rep.)

if practicing in california is important to you. then, i would advice you to decide between the above mentioned 3 schools.

GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!! 8)

i think this list ranks the university as a WHOLE, not just the Medical school.

University of Szeged is the only EE university ranked in the TOP 100 European universities.

All that was posted above is true.

However, the schools mentioned (as well as others) have provide a number of hurdles for Americans coming abroad. I'd recommend that you do a bit more research by searching this forum for comments about those schools. Once you done that and are still interested, I recommend that you take the time and money to go visit the school(s) that interest you. Whatever you do, don't attend a school in the region sight unseen, because you are likely to be disappointed.

University of Szeged is the only EE university ranked in the TOP 100 European universities.

If the list of ranking is among one of the criterion for choosing medical school then Moscow State Univ, Russia has a far better rank (18) than any University of E Europe (Univ Szeged ranks bw 80- 125..the only Univ of E Europe in the list )

The university of Vienna is a great choice. Unfortunately, there are a couple pretty significant barriers.

1) You must have command of the German language (read: pass the Goethe exam).

2) Foreign students used to attend the school in large numbers. However, a couple of years ago, they tightened the admissions requirements. Essentially, unless you come from an underserved (e.g. third world country with a lack of doctors), you have to prove that you have gained admission to a medical school in your own country.

3) Vienna is not cheap.
