Personal Statement for Carib Schools

I'm writing my personal statement for a few Carib school applications and was wondering if there is an unstated word limit to how long a personal statment should be?

Also should it be double-spaced or is single-spacing OK? Thanks.

Although there is no set format, I think double-spacing is easier to read. Regarding max word limit, most schools will tell you how many they are looking for. As a rule, 500 words is a good target.
