A better idea would be to do your prerequisite courses for med school in the U.S. It would be cheaper than going all the way to St. Lucia, you will probably get a better pre-med education, and you may even do well enough to get into a US med school. (Why? See my do-over scenario below.)

The only benefit one might get from attending a premed program in the caribbean might be guaranteed admission to the med school program. And lets face it, it you can pass pre-req courses in the states even on your second try, Spartan will probably admit you no sweat. Caribbean schools should be a second choice, and Spartan should be down the list within that group of schools four or six notches.

My own do-over scenario:
If I could start pre-med over, I would take pre-med courses might be to take as many required courses as possible in community college, then transfer to a University. No one cares if you did courses at a comm. college, because the credits will transfer to the University and be on the University transcript. Community colleges are cheaper, and sometimes give A's more frequently. Then I would take the university courses and professors that have a reputation for giving high marks. Of course, one must be careful to still learn the material for the MCAT! But GPA is everything. I would go to the bookstore and purchase the Kaplan review materials and study them from day one, so I could ace the MCAT. Then US med school acceptance would be very likely. 8)
