Well, the depths of human crappiness never cease to amaze me.

Our landlord's dog was stolen last night. There are footprints all over the wall where you can see where people jumped in the backyard and little paw prints where they forced this poor little dog back over the wall.

Just breaks my heart. We had our dog out in the yard too, but we suspect he was too big to get over the wall so he wasn't stolen also.

Just disgusting. So, those of you that have pets, keep an eye on them, evidently they are a hot comodity too... ***?

I'll try post pics later so if you see this dog you can pm me...

never...never...never...underestimate the depravity of humans...or sub-humans. Always remember that you are in a 3rd world country with nice beaches....but it is still a 3rd world country.

Dont leave your shoes outside....leave nothing in your car....lock up all of your valuables....etc. It costs them nothing to steal from you...and everything has value if you have nothing!!

It may seem a little pessimistic, but after not only living in SXM but working as a paramedic there.....I have gained an immense amount of insight. These people truly do suck!! They dont care about you...and even less about your stuff. You are not a guest, you are an annoyance because you have money and they want to get as much of your money as possible. They dont like you because you have opportunity, money, and a good lifestyle. They tolerate you to get your money. If there is anything they can do to make your stay unpleasant...believe me they will do it...especially if they can profit from it. We are NOT well-liked on the island for no other reason than who we are.

There are good people on the island, but they are hard to find. I have made some very good friends but overall Sint Maarten is the friendly island where you have to bring your own friends!! I know this sounds harsh....but then again reality never does seem palatable. My summary? Do your time...see the sights...have fun...study hard...BE CAREFUL!! This is my opinion, not necessarily everyone elses...but I am sure there are people who will agree with my synopsis

I found living on the French side the people were much nicer. And it was somewhat safer. Less expensive also. Cleaner. And it took me 15 minutes in the morning to get to the campus. The students should remember this is an option.

You know, we went the French side for dinner after the exams (where later I got a really bad case of the runs and I thanked God I wasn't in the US as I broke every road law racing to get back), I would definitely keep the French side as an option. It's beautiful, food is good and the women, oh God, the women..

You're still saying the food is good even after you got a bad case of the runs? Anyone else think this is odd?

Dog is great with BBQ sauce, oyster sauce, or even in the crock pot with french onion soup. Is it any wonder they are stolen?? You don't think someone will cook up their own dog, do you? G

All I can say is that after hearing of several people getting extremely sick after eating there (then experiencing it myself) and hearing about a person finding a cockroach in his food I will NEVER eat at Sichuan again dog meat or not.

My neighbor's dog was "dog-napped" a few months ago...whoever stole him took off his tag too. He's a smaller breed which may have been why he's so easy to manage.

I'd like to see someone try to steal my dogs...

ALoha,

I hear that Jon. When I get there I might just put my Pit in the yard as bait and watch from a window as an unsuspecting dognapper jumps the fence and sees the sh?t he just got himself into
