Has anyone setup live videoconferencing from the island to the states, PA?

How's the quality? Is the bandwidth available on the island?

What software and camera did you use for system running MS XP?

I had pretty good luck with videoconferencing on the island. I cannot remember the name of the service but it is on the second floor above the UTS building. They charge about 40 a month, but it beats the hell out of the long distance rates. They will set everything up for you and it is easy to get on. I used video conferencing every night to help me run a business. The bandwidth is good..some delays with heavy traffic...but overall no complaints. Talk to a guy named Roy Robinson. He is a nice guy and wont screw you.

If I choose to attend AUC I definately need to setup v-conf. The thought of not being able to see my kids drives me crazy.

How would I setup the equipment on my wife's computer? She has a PC running MS XP.

I use Yahoo instant messenger and a web cam to talk to my husband and kids back in the states. We talk everynight so I can say good night to the kids before bed. It works great. I also have a microphone that I can use to talk to the kids too.

What is your connection speed in the US and on the Island?

It's fast enough to video conference. Althouth it is slow to connect and as with everything in SXM the reliability is variable. Great service though by SXM standards.....no real complaints
