In Our medical school the Subject Pathology is devided into pathological Physiology and Pathological Anatomy .....for pathological Physilogy they follow the universally accepted syllabus of "Medical Pathology" and that's why we are never in short of English books of the subject...but in case of pathological anatomy we dont find specific English books n thus we have to depend entirey upon Lecture Notes ...as far as i know most of the schools of Eastern Europe has both pathological physiology and pathological Anatomy ....can any one please suggest me a book on Pathological Anatomy(it consists of Study of Histopathological Slides , pathological Macro Preparations of various organs eg Goose Liver,Brown induration of lungs etc).............do u people out here in E Europe have both path Physiology and path anatomy...or just pathology?

The standard text for Pathology is Robbins...( http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0721692745/ )
though some peope splurge and buy the complete Robbins ( http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/072167335X/ )
For slides, some people buy Curran's Atlas of Histopatholgy ( http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0192632205/ ), though there are others out there.
Some universities put their histopathology collection up on the web for all to view.
The best way, though, IMO, is to make your own drawings of both macro and micro preparations that correspond to the ones your university has.

thanks a lot Miklos for your quick help
I do have Robins ...but at times i find it too detailed to digest thus I prefer
"Pathology Illustrated" by Peter S . Macfarlane (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/search-handle-form/103-9063210-1499043 )...have u been through the book ? if yes whats your opinion about it? is it Enough?
Curran's Atlas of Histopatholgy is a good bet but Wheater's basic histopathology consists both text and atlas.........
do u people have path anat in Hungary?

I'm not familiar with Pathology Illustrated. Wheater's I've seen and is a good book.
Pathology in Hungary consists of a combined class of gross (e.g. macro and autopsies) pathology as well as histopathology along with theory. Pathophysiology is taught separately.

drtintin...did you say that you find ROBBINS too detailed? if i am not mistaken this is the standard book in the US. are you lowering your standards???
and by the way...robbins is not that detailed...there is another book that deals with the topic of pathology which is twice the size of robbins.

I think the Robbins u r talking about is "Robbins Basic Pathology" (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0721692745/103-9063210-1499043) which is the standard Text book of Most of the english language Medical Schools in the world ....not only US but the book i find too detailed is "Robbins Pathologic Basis of Disease"
abot Robbins Basic Pathology ...The style of the book dosent suit me ......rather the style of "pathology Illustrated" suits me more more over I dont find anything missed in pathology illustrated that is there in Robbis ....i ll suggest u have a glimpse of the book
