AUC was dropped by Keynote Medachiever loans. I first called MEIO, and I was told that Financial Aid was too busy to speak with me due to a certain rush of loan applications.

Afterwards, I decided to call Keynote Medachiever. They told me that they have ended their relationship with AUC and all other Caribbean Medical Schools. The "Big 3" are not exempt.

***Relief*** I am so glad that I went with Sallie Mae.

Correction: another rep told me that Ross and St. George are still eligible but confirmed that AUC is no longer eligible.

If you have already had your loan pre-approved, Key Bank will still honor it. However, you need to call AUC and make sure they have sent the promissary note to them. Also, Key bank will be sending the loan check directly to the address you put on the loan application, not to AUC. If it doesn't get to you before you leave, you'll have to have someone pick up the check and mail it to you, or deposit it for you.

In the future, we must go through Sallie Mae or the other one.

My first question would be to wonder why AUC is no longer eligible, but the other two Carib schools are. If it smells like fish.................

wasn't it supposed to be only to schools that don't have a doe number? maybe they have AUC confused with the similar sounding ones that popped up? AUA, AIU?

It probably is the schools name that is causing problems here. Who knows how many times the name American University of the CARIBBEAN has caused problems for us in the past... now this.

That makes sense. They have status now because of the US address. However, all Caribbean schools have been dropped. When they move back to the Caribbean, the status will be gone. Sounds Logical.

between salie mae and the federal loans, you should be able to get full aid; given that your credit is not bad.
