Okay, I finally took time to write stuff about the AUC Application process. Lord knows that I went through it for a few months. It can be found here:

I hope that it helps a lot of people as I discuss the real interview process and the ranking system.
P.S. Ignore the biased comments about AUC students and AUC being the best Caribbean Medical School.

What new loan process are you referring to in your write up? Thanks

It's the new situation where Keynote Medachiever had dropped many schools of the list. I am not sure if AUC is approved or not. We are not on the website of approved schools, but we were never there in the first place. I had to call for approval.
I used Sallie Mae, so I really don't know our situation. However, I almost went with Keynote, and I am glad that I didn't.
Has anyone heard if we are still eligible for Keynote Medachiever?

All Caribbean schools have been dropped by MedAchiever, according to the people I spoke with at KeyBank on two seperate occassions. Simple business decision, more than likely based on money, and the rate of default is the most obvious culprit. People who fail out with $50-100k+ in student loans aren't often in much of a position to pay them back...
US schools rarely fail anyone out, so it's not as much of a problem.

I think it's perhaps a bit irresponsible to speculate about defaults as the reason. No one knows, and making a guess like that, however educated, can only hurt IMGs. One never knows who exactly is paying attention on these forums, after all.
