Hello,
I was wondering if you should buy the materials needed for 1st semester in the US and bring it with you or just get it when you get there?
Things such as:
1) Short white student lab coat for the White Coat Ceremony (get it at Note Service on campus or order it online?)
2) Laboratory Guide
3) Dissection kit (order at Note service or bring your own?)
4) Anatomy Atlas
5) Scrubs (would both top and bottom be needed, and how many?)
6) Gloves

Does anyone recommend a place of ordering supplies?
Thanks

As for the short white student lab coat, what is an appropiate length? and how much is it at Note Service on campus?
Where do I order Anatomy Atlas and is this the title of the book?
About the Scrubs they say to have either lab coats or scrubs? Is it fine to have 2 of each? Or should i get I get more scrubs then lab coats? Also is the lab coat also supposed to be short?
Thanks again...
I greatly appreciate your help!!!

I had 2 sets of scrubs (tops and pants) and it worked fine but remember we only had lab every other day. I am bringing a couple more pairs when I come back for micro lab. If your lab if everyday I would have at least 3-4 pairs. I would also order your white coat before coming down as it will save you money also the dissection kit may be cheaper if you bring it with you. I also recommend buying and wearing nitrile gloves which you must bring with you. Nitrile gloves prevent the "latex" smell and also seem to not cause the sweating that latex gloves do. Use the provided lab manual from note services as I think Dr. Loukas will be providing a new manual that he wrote for sale.

good luck

Where exactly did you find the dissection kit? I tried to find it online, but it is not the exact that is specified?
Thanks for the info....much appreciated!!!

Buy a box (50 or so) #10 and #23 scalpel blades - the handles (#3 and #4, respectively) will be there. You might also buy a probe or two.

If you buy a kit, get a box of blades for whatever sized scalpel handle you have.

It's not like the military - they aren't going to scream at you if you don't have exactly the right thing.

But, if you really have to know exactly which one to get, try this one: http://allheart.com/pmak1.html

I was just wondering, does this packet include the blades we need? or just the handles?

Handle and one blade. One blade is NOT enough.
