I, currentstudent, have deleted this post not because I was advised by the forum moderators but because I feel that this post depicted the opposite of my character and was quite immature in its content. I have already personally appologized to azskeptic for my remarks against him and I will conduct myself in a manner which represents me and my chosen career path in the future.
Thank you

No we don't.
If you can't take the heat, why don't you get out of the kitchen, mr. currentstudent? Nobody held a gun to your head and made you read the posts on valuemd. Perhaps it should be you who leaves, since you are the one complaining? :p

What gave you the impression that you could speak for me? You most certainly MAY NOT.
If you don't like what Azskeptic posts, then get some facts to refute (facts, mind you, not wishes and hopes) them.
Good luck on your boards.

well, at least we're not being offered a caneing...now in England they pay for that..ha ha Steph, its ok for me....I'm amused and not particularly bothered by the young person's emotional outbreak. It is better to laugh then take some of this stuff too seriously. It is safe on a listserv like this to learn how to moderate one's emotion but when you get into the real world you don't threaten people or say things like above; it isn't proper behavior.

when you reach 53,like me, if you aren't fairly mature you'll never get there.
When I was young and hotheated I would say things that didn't make much sense. Maturity (which isn't necessarily age related) will teach you it is better to win a discussion with facts and honesty than trying to win by bullying, etc. I understand that currenstudent is stressed; we all are in our lives, whatever it may be. Our goal as fully functioning humans is to speak to each other and talk things out; if we don't agree we don't agree. Slapping won't get you far; even babies don't like it when they used to be slapped. Nope, best thing to do is disprove what you don't done like. My intentions are honorable as are most people on discussion groups. Our job is to talk and learn and listen to others....not necessarily agree. Some things aren't able to be put into the tune you want.

I think that the problem Az, is that you do not understand medical education very well...
In medical school, you learn the basic sciences first... People in the USA, sometimes never show up to class, they just study and take the tests and then pass step 1... Some people need classes and that is fine because the classes are there. Same is true for the carib. except if you go to Spartan because at Spartan you have to be present for 80% of each and every course or you fail.. They do take attendance, every single day. As far as I know spartan is the only school that requires you to be present for all classes.
Then you do your clinicals. Your job as a medical student is to do H & P's, go to rounds, write notes, retract during surgeries, basic stuff. Then you take step 2. There is no real magic to it. And after it is all over they call you a doctor, which is a joke because you cannot do anything without supervision.
Then Azkeptic, you go to residency and that is where ALL the learning takes place, that is where you learn your trade!!!!!!
More, if a Ross student gets 235 on his boards and a Harvard grad gets 185, generally speaking that Ross student knows more about the basic sciences than that Harvard student regardless of where they studied...
The medical school that you went to, says nothing about what kind of physician you are... This explains how some us from a little known school such as Spartan have qualified to the top university hospitals in the nation!!!! Because we earned it!!!
You, Az, have to keep in mind that there are real people out there with families, hard working people that sacrificed, that labored, that worked our butts off, in order to make to where we are.. In fact, we worked harder than most USA graduates.
Then you come into this forum and post negative stuff, much of it lies, like the Courant... When you send that stuff around to every state licensing board in the nation, think of these things that I mention. What you are doing might not be so honorable.
I showed you places where the Courant lied. Have you followed up on that stuff??? Spartan grads can be licensed in St. Lucia. Their lies have hurt Spartan grads for a long time... You posted an example of it today, with your TN article. If you take the time to research what I am saying and you see that I speak the truth, are you still going to feel honorable??? I only hope you see the truth and the truth opens your mind. That is all. -s&a

Much simpler... Lets stick to the allegations of the Courant and to ZAATARI's list. Start with the St. Lucian government, then work your way down ZAATARI's list. He is calling you and the Courant out. He already has spoken with the St. Lucian health minister, he also spoke with NM, Idaho. I recommend you start with the St. Lucian government because that is by far the most serious allegation made by the Courant. Mr Montrope told me what he stated in the CT article[refer to the article]:Spartan grads eligible for license if they complete residency[& of course citizen requirements like everywhere else], Do you thing if this St Lucian senior student [Alecia]who got the hightest score on her boards and went to Harvard for Cardiology they will say sorry you are not eligible and she will have top hospitals in the US fighting for her?If I apply with 18 yrs in top US and international hospitals, double board certified, award winning for superior care, saved thousands of lives, the St Lucian government would not take me?they would not take Harvard radiologist,Moffitt oncologist,SF award winning cardiologist,Stevie award winner delivering free meds & as consultant,TV host on their TV educating their public to prevent diseases,

Two more points that I want to bring up, after reviewing the article again. I want you to add these things to your Christmas list, Az...
1- They mention an incident, in detail, where a Spartan student missed classes and still graduated back in the early 1980's when the school first started. It has a great effect on the reader... However, they do not mention the FACT that Spartan learned from that mistake and there is an 80% attendance policy!!!!!! That is huge azskeptic... On the one hand, they are accusing the school of letting someone slide by, back in the 80's and they do not mention anything about how Spartan has handled and fixed the situation... I am sure that when they did their visit, they must have asked the students, "Well, do you guys go to class?" And I am positive that the students must have told them about Spartan's attendance policy.
2- They accuse Spartan of completing the basic sciences in only 4 semesters. But Az, ALL USA schools do their basic sciences in 4 semesters!!!!!!!! Only they take the summer off after the first year. We continue thru and do all four semesters wiithout taking the summer off. 4 semesters = about a year and 4 months. USA people do it in a year and 8 months, because they take the summer off. They are misleading people here!!!!
3- They mention that the Spartan pass rate for the boards is low, "according to experts". What experts??? I am not denying that it is low, medium or high.. I just want to know what "experts" they are talking about??? I do not know of any experts roaming the caribbean with board scores in their back pockets.
There is so much fluff in this article... So you can get a small glimpse Az, of why people are so upset. Do you really believe that this article is fair, Az??? -s&a

I just want to know what "experts" they are talking about??? I do not know of any experts roaming the caribbean with board scores in their back pockets.
There is so much fluff in this article... So you can get a small glimpse Az, of why people are so upset. Do you really believe that this article is fair, Az??? -s&a
As a published writer myself one must consider writing is like a camera...you take a picture but what you see may not be what others see.
One cannot question that Spartan is questioned by many and as you have mentioned the admnistration is a large part of the question. Spartan, the school of last resort, is what people think.

See Az, that was NOT my question! Whether a school is in question or not, does NOT give anyone the right to make up false allegaitions!!!! Journalists have a obligation to state facts!!!! As a published writer, you should know that...
I personally do NOT care whether Spartan is a first choice or a last choice, that is not the issue. Stick to the issue. You are running away. And because you are so stubborn and because you do NOT want to take any responsiblity for any of your actions, in regard to sending this false artice to state boards, you will never admit your error and this is why there is so much animosity towards you in this forum. Now, you have your answer. -s&a

Again, writing is an art,not a science....i.e. it is opinions not something that can be verified with a machine. You continue attack me but apparently can't deal with the reality that the article isn't false; only that you don't agree with it. If there are 'corrections' get them into an accepted place i.e. magazine, newspaper, press release from Spartan and get it out to the people. Attacking me won't solve your problems nor your schools problems. Tennessee is an example of what happens if you don't deal with it. That is why students should carefully study going to a school like Spartan that doesn't support its students per S&A's writings and thoughts; you are on your own.

Pointless, to even try and reason with you, Az... That whole thing about you saying that if we showed you where the errors were, you would act, was a lie. I am sorry but I have to agree with so many others, that there is corruption in your method. You will not even begin to listen and so, your cycle of deception and ignorance continues... But I do not even know what is in it for you nor do I really care, at this point... -s&a

So, you not only lack the courage to attempt to get facts, you lack the intellectual capacity to understand why facts are important. I see why you attend a pseudoschool.

He's not a doc in California, is he? So, he's not a doc for me. Too bad he thinks that he made a mistake (hence his complaining about the law in California, too bad he wasn't bright enough to figure it out earlier).
And I retired from a mid 6 figure annual income to go to medical school. Two weeks ago I got the settlement from selling one of my businesses, it's more than 8 figures (cash, left side of the decimal).... It's not about the money for me. I have another business that I'm in the process of selling, that will only bring me a tad under $1-mil. Oh, and my Cessna Citation Jet is for sale, too. So, I guess I can talk.
Now, if it's just about the money for you, why not go into a line you're better suited for? Since you're so familiar with pimps, that must be your calling.

Don't forget this is public board and you have invited members of medical boards to come here and read about Spartan... all I see are childish attacks from Spartan students and alumni's... What do you think this says about the quality of students this school educates.... which board do you want approval from again???
P
Currentstudent has apologized and I accept his apology. Indeed one needs to be aware that these are public boards and like it or not your behavior speaks for your institution. But he has shown some good manners and I appreciate it. Sometimes internet is not the best way to communicate your feelings at the time you hit the send button.

I would like to add that any individual seeking veritable knowledge should always question anything stated by currentstudent. His/Her constant diatribes and insults, whether apologized for or not, are not becoming and should cast doubt on any and all information he/she purports.

Dude,
The guy made a mistake. He was under a lot of stress. He was upset. He apologized about it. Why don't you give him a break? I guess not everyone can be as great as you mindprobe, huh?? You are just so superior, aren't you? -s&a
