Okay, even though I'm a Sabian to be, I'm posting here to ask about the reputation of the Travel Inn (the hotel really close to the airport). Is it a well established hotel, or is it as shady as Microphage in a sushi smorgasboard cafeteria? (yea, you wonder why you can never find any sushi on the spread>>>>>microman's strikes again-----MUAHHHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAA)

travelinn hotel looks nice, if you got a room there for a decent price take it.....it's not really close to the airport tho, like walking distance.....you'll need a cab. Its right near some restaurants and stuff too. The bigger concern would be getting from the hotel to the airport in the morning, i would check with them to see if they have a shuttle

Really, the internet site for Travel Inn said it was only 1 mile from St. J's airport? I can run a mile in less than 6 minutes (quicker if I'm being chased by a hungry cheetah I'm sure).

The price is the cheapest I've found so far $110 for double occupancy with one king size bed. Of course I'm staying alone (since everyone else is getting to Saba before the day of orientation).

Thanks swimguy.... :-kissey !

Classic,

I tried booking a night at Travel Inn, but they took too long to respond, hence I booked myself in Mary'sboon...at least I did not get a good rate though. I got a better deal at Marys Boon, plus they agreed to shuttle me back to the Edge on Sunday morning...so what to do? Good luck and see you.

BTW I thought you were travelling together with Shauna, so why are you asking a lot of questions? She should know the area better than you...

Yes, I am traveling with the crazy red head, but she has a flight back to Saba on the second. My Winair ticket isn't until the 3rd (it was the earliest flight time I could find) . No worries though!

Cheap room, candycorn, a good ol forensic thriller novel will keep me company (along with my new Keith Urban CD... These are the days worth living.....woo- hoooo--- I love Aussies for his sake) .

cars jump out infront, no sidewalk around hotel makes it hard to walk, etc and since its high season there are about 30 100 foot yachts and 30 private jets at the airport which means rubbernecking tourists slowing things down even more....

have fun on haunted mountain....when you are here take a peek at saba it looks very spooky with an ever present cloud at the top...time goes fast by the time your nosehairs that the formaldehyde burned grow back, it will be time to leave...

1 mile along the main road walking.....hahahahahahahahahaha
2 examples - 1 I ran all the way to philipsburgh once freshman years - about 20 miles roundtrip the whole time was a deathtrap - i dont run in that area anymore.....nevermind with luggage

my friends and i ran a road race on the island - one of my friends got hit by a car.....

and Sea view or whatever, never heard of it......but 20 minutes from the airport is a load of crap - especially not during tourist season. It took my girlfriend about 1 hour to go from the airport to a little bit past the travelinn the other day.
It tends to be going in that direction which is bad. I also have sat in traffic for a long time which does not make new englanders very happy. Its like being on an island full of Jersey drivers.....damn they suck

Travelinn or Mary's Boob are best bets

If you are looking for close to the airport why hasn't anyone said anything about Caravan Siray (or however the hell you spell it). If you are a student, or with a student, or a student to be, you can book a room for like $70-90 a night. It's right in the airports backyard, next to Bamboo Bernie's and Sunset Beach Bar. Anyway, hope you got a good deal where ever you decided to stay.

Travel Inn isn't that bad. I stayed there for two nights when I visited AUC. Nothing special, but the rooms have A/C, cable TV, and a fridge. They also have high speed internet (misnomer) for $5/day which is pretty cool. Plus, they lock the main door at night and they have an attendant at the desk, 24 hrs. If anyone wants to come in, they knock and have to be allowed in. So, it's decently secure.

It's def. farther than a mile from the airport. I haven't checked, but I'd estimate around 2.5 miles? High season traffic sucks.
