Hi,
I was wondering if anyone had any addtional pics of the school, I read somewhere that they were expanding the campus, is this true? Also, if any current or past students are around I was wondering if you could commet on how you found Step1. I realize that there is not a course offered at Spartan to prepare you for the test and others schools do, but the others incoporate it in the fifth semester. If I took the Kaplan Review would it cover the same thing as if I did it like 5th semester at MUA or Saba, ect? I know its vague, and you might not have an answer, but any advice or opinions +ve or -ve would be great.
Thanks a bunch,
Laura :)
Laura:
Some schools will offer an integrated review course into their cirriculum. Although some are actually Kaplan courses, most are not (conducted by Princeton Review or something similar). I think that having the course integrated has both pros and cons. The pro is that you are forced to take the course which will better prepare you for Step 1. The con is that the school will usually charge you more than the same course would otherwise cost if you took it in the USA. Another con (some might even say this is a pro  ) is that you will be outside the USA for an extra semester.
Regardless, I would say that Kaplan is the overwhelming majority's top choice for board review. So if you attend a school that has a Kaplan review course integrated already (or something similar), that's a plus. If not, I would strongly suggest taking the Kaplan review course immediately after the basic sciences. If you took the extensive Kaplan prep (3 month course) this would be similar (in my opinion) to taking an integrated review course. If you want to save even more money, you can also opt for less extensive Kaplan (or similar) courses, but they will probably not be equivalent to the intergrated courses, although they are still very helpful.
Regarding the Spartan pics, there are some posted in the ValueMD Spartan album (http://www.valuemd.com/album_cat.php?cat_id=6), but they do not include any updated construction. Hope this helps.

Thanks Doc,
I want to attend spartan since its been around for a long time, and the other's schools that have been around are too much money for me, yikes! On the other hand, I do not want to go there and study then the stuff taught in the classes is not even the info I needed to be studying anyways for Step 1. I have no problem studying on my own I just want it to be the correct info. :) I agree with the Kaplan course, sure it cost extra but no where close if you had to pay an extra semester of tution say at Ross.
I saw those pics but they do not show me much, if anyone else has any others it would be great.
Thanks again Doc
