rumor has it the entire country of belize is marked as "high risk" by key bank, or in other words, for the medachiever loans. med students in belize cannot receive loans from them anymore. i've heard that a fiasco over there at MUA-Belize was a main cause of this.

do you guys have any comments?

There is alot behind MedAchiever. Rumor has it that all schools that are not listed i.e. as Dept of Ed approved countries will all be suspended next year. Fortunately, Belize will be on the list as they have had DOE approval before. I do not think that KEY will be doing business will many of the schools they are currently with. If you would like more details, contact the risk management division at KEY Bank, it could be enlightening. Also, there is a launching of a new loan program coming in March for schools that are deemed quality-programs. MUA-B has been slated to be one of the few schools initially approved.
