Current Nursing Student

Well I am currently a 27yo nursing student. I am in a progressive ASN/BSN program. I graduate in April with my ASN, am guarnteed employment and allowed time to finish my BSN at the same school. (The hospital that will employ me owns the school). I would like to go to medical school to become a physician. Its not that I dont like nursing practice, I just want to be in a more decision making role. With my age and experience, would any recommend me going to medical school after I get my ** degree? Would I be better off going to graduate school to be a Nurse Practitioner or PA? What do you all think?

depends on your goals. for instance in my state, AZ, nurse practitioners have independence and can even open their own practices. PAs are more restricted. But in terms of insurance reimbursement MD's have it better.

Assume you meen you are getting an associates degree which is 60 semester hours? if so you still need to go a bit to get in most med schools. A nursing degree is an admirable degree and there are many doctors in the country who were originally nurses. see http://www.belgravehouse.com/outline.htm
