I am trying to apply at Spartan. But I read posts by Azzasceptic-wow those were like warning bells.
I need some clarifications from Shochandawe & DT.
Azzasceptic has posted that Spartan is beeing debarred from CT core & elective rotations. What is the truth?
Also he has posted about Alabama licensure. What are the states that Spartan graduates can do rotations in?
I know Spartan is an old school. All I need is a shot at USMLE1,2,3.pls clarify.
To Azzasceptic:I admire you,I am not against your posts. As a matter of fact your actions are purely selfless and aimed at the good of the society.I need to to go Spartan beacuse of personal constrains. So I would value your suggestions too.

PartII
What is the easiest state to get license in for Spartan graduates.I was told by the Spartan office in NM that it is Michigan!!!!I could not beleive my ears.is that true.
Also what is the best way to find State requirements?

Thanks in advance.

think you are referring to the Jack Dolan article I posed from Ct. It shows at least 4 states that specifically mention no licensure I believe.

What state do you want to practice in?

All the states you mentioned has Spartan licensed physicians,I myself hold license in MI,IL from the states you mentioned.Alabama is ok but some schools like UTESA ,etc not approved, others like Spartan,AUC,...must provide "additional documents"like passport to prove they been to charter country[that why people should NOT do any basic sciences courses outside the charter country[US,UK...].
Spartan NO in California,IN.
may be in NM[ok with 3 yrs residency, board certifications]
may be in ID[must hold US license in another state 5 yrs]
7 states[OH,NC,KY,CT,OK..]ok now but awaiting April 05 decision from the FSMB.
TX NO to all carribeans[except UWI]
I verified above last yr,please contact state boards for latest rules.
I thing things now becomming more difficult for all carribean schools and that is why schools rushing to gain CA approvals[security blanket],I am not sure if Spartan pursuing such accredetations yet.
sharing personal search/experiences/senior carribean alumni

"I am trying to apply at Spartan. But I read posts by Azzasceptic-wow those were like warning bells."

But unfortunately, all of the Az's knowledge is from the internet, though very ironically, he is against internet educations???

"Azzasceptic has posted that Spartan is beeing debarred from CT core & elective rotations. What is the truth?"

Absolutely false, Spartan has consistently produced Residents of the Year from the Yale affiliate hospitals and students continue to rotate and match in CT, both in Yale affiliate hospitals and Yale New-Haven.

"Also he has posted about Alabama licensure. What are the states that Spartan graduates can do rotations in?"

12 weeks in NY only. Stay out of PA.

"I know Spartan is an old school. All I need is a shot at USMLE1,2,3.pls clarify."

Spartan gives people a chance at the boards, the score you get, is left up to you.

"To Azzasceptic:I admire you,I am not against your posts. As a matter of fact your actions are purely selfless and aimed at the good of the society."

Are you sure about that James???

"I need to to go Spartan beacuse of personal constrains. So I would value your suggestions too."

Perfectly understandable. I get messages from people in your exact situation, every other day... Spartan gives an opportunity to people who would otherwise, not have an opportunity to ever practice medicine. If only they would clean up their act, they would be among the best in the carib...

"What is the easiest state to get license in for Spartan graduates.I was told by the Spartan office in NM that it is Michigan!!!!I could not beleive my ears.is that true.

Contacting the state boards is the best and safest way.

"I am trying to apply at Spartan. But I read posts by Azzasceptic-wow those were like warning bells."

But unfortunately, all of the Az's knowledge is from the internet, though very ironically, he is against internet educations???Actually I have spoken in front of all of the medical boards at their association meeting and met many of the State licensing boards so my education isn't exactly all from the internet.

Azskeptic never said that..it is in the newspaper article I posted. You've also posted that there is a Nobel Peace Prize winner which www.nobel.se doesn't seem to know about....strange.

Actually there are numerous other schools in the same price rang that have graduates licensed already. Spartan has been in existence for a long time and the researchers in the article couldn't find many graduates. what does that mean?

Az, az, az... The courant writers saw what they wanted to see, just as you see only what you want to see and nothing else...

A good example, at the time that the writers were in St. Lucia, the school was expanding and building a brand new campus, this was right in front of their eyes, yet there was no mention of it.. They somehow overlooked that part.

Just as you somehow overlook the part where they make false statements and where they try and make Spartan look like they are not even approved in their own St. Lucia, yet only a few months after their visit, the Prime Minister of St. Lucia went to spartan and spoke on live television before the St. Lucian people for the grand opening of the new campus.

Your knowledge is based totally on the internet. You have never been to neither Spartan nor Saba nor any of these schools. Saba just got CA approval, but the Spartan campus in much better than Saba. I have seen both. And not only do we do our rotations at some of their same exact hospitals, we also do rotations at much better hospitals, such as the Yale affiliate hospitals, that Saba does not have affiliations with... I am not saying that Saba is bad, right now, they are the best, especially after they got CA and they have an excellent administration, maybe the best... But what I am saying to you, Az, is that you do not see the full picture nor will you even listen...

You challenged us about showing you Spartan grads, forgetting about the great work and devotion that some of our grads have done to our society and abroad, look throughout the internet, we have residents from MD Anderson to Yale to Harvard, Columbia, Residents of the Year, Physicians of the Year... How did your Courant forget to mention that??? -s&a

I am trying to apply at Spartan. But I read posts by Azzasceptic-wow those were like warning bells..
Then take heed.

Spartan is beeing debarred from CT core & elective rotations. What is the truth?.
I believe it's from certain hospitals. Maybe another will give you a shot.

What are the states that Spartan graduates can do rotations in?.
Many states. just stay away from the one's you read about with special criteria. exp. Cali & NY (after 12 weeks) etc. Everything else is fair game.

I know Spartan is an old school. All I need is a shot at USMLE1,2,3.pls clarify..
well if that's all you want..then spartan is for you.

What is the easiest state to get license in for Spartan graduates.I was told by the Spartan office in NM that it is Michigan!!!!I could not beleive my ears.is that true..
I can they tell you that? there is no such thing as the easiest state to get in to. you are either eligible of not. if you are eligible then there is no problem.

Also what is the best way to find State requirements?.
call the state medical boards or look on their web pages.

Hi Guys,

It was nice to read so many different types of posts here. my question is How about IL? Is Spartan allowed in IL both for rotations and residency. I heard lot of spartan graduates do their clinicals in Jackson Park Hospital Chicago and some other hospitals there.

Any thoughts opn this will be much appreciated.

Regards,
Ahsan
