Talked to Mr. James, he said that he's not going to sell bread in his store again next semester. He says he can never keep up and he's not making that much profit on it.
We need to tell him not to do that! I dont want to buy my bread from that shack with all the flies next to the pharmacy!

They sell good bread in Portsmouth. A little shack right next to the ice cream place across the street from where all the transports hang out.
James is all about profit it seems like

Try Tina's. She sells bread also (no croissants though).

I might be wrong, but the same bakery supplies the above mentioned shack as well as the "shack with all the flies next to the pharmacy." Either way, I've never had any problem with their bread and I don't recall the multitude of flies. Maybe it's just you Hornkneegirl that atttracts the flies...hmmm?

LOL. Nothing "seems like" about it.
A simple thing like cake mix...routinely expired and old. If James bought it fresh for $4 and sells it to you for $11...he makes a $7 profit. BUT, if he bought a discounted, expired cake mix for $2 and sold it to you for his normal $11 price, he'd make a $9 profit. Is it ever a wonder why things are the way they are?

she said next semester.
it would be really stupid for james to stop selling bread. How else are you gonna get people to go to your store?
it's like Best Buy selling new cd's for $8.99. They make no profit from the CD, but at least they got you into their store...
someone go teach that midget some economics.
when i was there, i actually saw him selling on the "sale Table", a broken bottle of beer. half leaked out, flat, glass shards and all. only half off. of course, everything else on the sale table was about a year past expiration date.

Wow...only a year past expiration? I think I found something older. I once found a box of mashed potatoes next to the juices in the back. Expiration date: July 1999.

It takes a Dominican to complain that something in his store is selling TOO well.
A quarter to one third of his ***** that I have bought had cobwebs in them.

I was at James Store yesterday, I asked Mr. James if they were not selling bread next semester. He laughed. He said he would NEVER not sell bread.
so Daniel found mashed potatoes that would have been expired before i started on the island, and I am now a secodn year resident! watch what you eat from that scam artist!

Just to be fair, I must admit that atleast half of the stuff in the store is not expired. I don't want to scare away too many of the prospective students. Yes, you will see lot of expired goods...and must be viligent about looking at expiration dates on every single item you pick up. BUT, being fair, I must admit that atleast half of the items at the store are not expired.

No lie, but the other day I was at James store and had a craving for some cereal -- forget the name of it -- but it was a mix of granola, raisons and corn flakes, anyway, I bought the thing for $28EC (pricey, I know but hey I was desperate) -- anyway, I went home all excited and everything, took out the milk, the bowl and the spoon, opened the box of cereal and that's when it happened!!! SOME SCARY LITTLE CREATES FLEW INTO MY FACE from the cereal box!!!! Looked at the bag and sure enough, the had made a home in my cereal bag....
My milk, bowl and spoon were very dissapointed....
