DeVry Inc. Names Steven Riehs Vice President and General Manager of Online Operations

OAKBROOK TERRACE, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 12, 2004--DeVry Inc. (NYSE:DV), an international higher-education company, announced that Steven Riehs, an education industry veteran, has joined the company as vice president and general manager of online operations.


Prior to joining DeVry, Riehs served as chief executive officer at BrainX, Inc., an education software company based in Camarillo, Calif. Before that, he served as vice president of e-learning and production for Medsn (formerly Medschool.com), a portal for medical students and physicians that provides e-learning courses for licensing exams, in Culver City, Calif.

Earlier in his career, Riehs was a vice president in the medical division of Kaplan Educational Centers in Chicago and vice president and chief operating officer of Compass Medical Education Network, which was acquired by Kaplan. He also has been an assistant professor, senior lecturer and course director at Rush University Department of Health Systems Management in Chicago. Trained as an industrial engineer, Riehs began his career in medical systems management, working for two major medical centers in the Chicago area.

Riehs earned a bachelor of science degree in industrial engineering from Northwestern University and a master of business administration degree from the University of Chicago.
