The Texas Licensure Board is going to be coming to Ross to evaluate it and, hopefully, declare it to be "substantially equivalent" to Texas medical schools. This would be the first off-shore medical school that Texas has declared to be "substantially equivalent."
Here is a quote from the Oct. 2004 meeting of the Texas Licensure Board:
"Agenda Item 18 – Dr. Patrick presented a report regarding Ross University. The committee chair directed the Executive Director to assemble a team to perform a verification visit at Ross University and report back at the December 2004 Licensure Committee meeting."
Hopefully, this will dispell some of the malignant, malevolent attitudes that people on this forum seem to have toward Ross.

Texas_md:
This would be great news for all Ross graduates who want to practice in the Lone Star State. I agree with you that some of the postings on this forum are really getting out of hand and have no relevance to former , current or future Ross students. My son who is in the 4th semester did say that the Mini 2 was very difficult. I assume they make the exams very tough to try to see who neeeds addditional time to prepare for their future as an MD.

Everything! Saba is the nexus of the universe, didn't ya know....
I think somebody posted something like "move over ross, saba now has CA approval" or something.
Personally since we are all IMGS, I think we are better off helping each other instead of competing, though it's great to be proud of your school.
After all, there but for the grace of god go I....

don't get too excited.
we don't have texas YET.
so we're not comparing apples and apples.
Saba has cali already. we don't have tx yet.
don't US, and IMGs both have to complete med school and take USMLE to get their MD...if so then they are no different than us...and the reason we IMGs are different is b/c we make ourselves different...if we take advantage of scoring well of USMLE then whose gonna dare pick on us

Can anyone who attending the meeting with the Texas State Board of Medical Examiners at Ross elaborate on what was discussed here in Dominica on Tuesday? I'm curious about their questions posed to students as well as faculty.
