Travel to Dominica

Personally, I don't think one necessarily needs an open return ticket...so I am left with two options:
1. a one-way tx...or
2. a roundtrip w/ a tentative date....if roundtrip is a better option...what return dates should i look for....

Open round tx cost upto $1040, whereas if one has a fixed return date but has to switch that date it would cost an extra $100 on a roundtrip tx:~$750(plus or minus)....

Moreover, one-way tx may also be a good option, if you decide to spend the 2 wks at a vacation spot....Guadaloupe, martinique, trini...there seem to be many options....what do u think???/

Don't you have to prove you have a round trip ticket when you send in your visa paperwork to the school?

Dominican visa requirements demand that you either have a return ticket or an "open return". This is so you can't pull your pockets wrong-side-out and say that you are too poor to return to your native country...not that any of us would ever dare do that.

I think it might be a better option to get an open return for the first semester. This way...you'll know how it all works. I could be wrong...but I think it may be worth it.
